Verisure

Are you looking to increase security at your home? Would you like to ensure your family is safer and protected? An alarm system – even the most basic one – is better than none. With sensors at key entrance points, homeowners can be alerted to would-be intruders and can take action to protect themselves and their family. With CCTV cameras now found on nearly every street in the United Kingdom, crime is still something that needs to be addressed and not taken lightly. A monitored alarm system is the best bet, as these companies can send out guarded units to protect homeowners and families. Which company do you choose? One such company is called Verisure. Are they reputable? Are they reliable? To know that, you need to read customer reviews from actual customers who use this company’s services.

About Verisure

Verisure was founded in 1988. It operates as part of the Verisure Group, which has a presence in 16 countries, employs 18,000 staff and serves 3.2 million customers. As a monitored alarm systems company, its systems incorporate 2 types of detectors and allow customers to even manage their own security system in their home or business from any location through their smartphone app called My Verisure. They have 32 branches across the United Kingdom from Bristol, Edinburgh, and Leeds to Newhaven, Sheffield, and Wolverhampton. Verisure’ products send alarm system signals from their wireless devices to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). If an alarm goes off, the company will contact the homeowner or key holder and if necessary will dispatch a guard response unit. Verisure offers customers 24-hour protection.

Products and Services of Verisure

Verisure Alarm Systems offers a 45-second response time once an alarm is triggered for their Alarm Receiving Centre to contact the homeowner or key holder. All devices feature an SOS button for emergencies. All devices also carry a lifelong warranty and customers can make use of 24-hour technical support. They offer alarm products for flats, for villas, for apartments, garages, detached houses, and even sheds. For businesses, customers can choose from alarms for commerce, for offices, warehouses, shops, and for premises. Devices available from Verisure are Alarm Control Panels, PIR motion sensors, Smart Key Readers, door and window alarm sensors, remote control alarm systems, perimeter security systems, and panic button alarms. Verisure’ Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) is ARC Gold-approved by the National Security Inspectorate (NSI), which is the United Kingdom’s leading certification body for security and fire protection sectors.

Alarm

I have been a verisure customer for approx 18 months.

I was unfortunately burgled this week and the verisure system completely failed. (Cameras not triggering, zero visibility does not operate).

Everything is promised to you on installation and almost all turns out to incorrect.

It also seems incredible that an alarm and security company does not actually employ and guards.
This is sub-contracted and so guards will never visit properties or incidents, instead customer services will make useful suggestions like “can you ask a neighbour to go round to take a look to see if the house is being burgled ” (at 1am in the morning)

Avoid this company and take note of all the other review sites and the appalling customer reviews they recieve.

Moonshot alarm is simply not worth the money. So much for cuttting edge technology and being pet friendly - my minature poodle keeps triggering the alarm. Going to have to get my hearing checked out as it is so loud

Verisure alarm system

A recent bad Customer "Service" experience has triggered a thorough research on the nitty-gritty of the Verisure alarm system.
Here's the findings, for the benefit of current and potential customers:

1) Verisure will tell you they're "NSI certified" - where "NSI" stands for National Security Inspectorate.
Which is true ... in part. Which part? Not the most important one...
Here's the whole truth: Verisure's Alarm Receiving Centre is indeed certified by NSI. This means a Verisure person will indeed pick up you call in, say, 40 or 60 seconds.
What happens from there? If the alarm is real, Verisure will contact their sub-contractor who does the patrolling and "intervention".
In my case (W7 postcode) this sub-contractor has a MINIMUM response time of 30 minutes. Add "Sunday", "football match" or "heavy rain" into the mix - and you'll potentially have an agent calling at your burgled home in 45-60 minutes. Useful, huh?
Moreover, these sub-contractors cannot touch the burglar, even if he/she is caught in the act of leaving your property loaded. I suppose that, based on the seniority of the burglar, the reaction of your "fierce" Verisure agent could range from "How are you, sir, enjoying your stroll this evening?" to "Bad boy! You'll go to bed without dinner tonight!"

2) Police will never intervene in case of a Verisure-triggered alarm.
Verisure can't provide an URN - unique reference number assigned by the police to a security system, like other providers (Banham, ADT).
Therefore Police intervention "is not guaranteed" - read "it will never ever happen".

3) Neither the products Verisure install in your property, nor the installers of those products, are NSI certified.
Have you noticed the door "sensors" they install? Peeling the film and gluing them to the door and to the frame? A gust of wind banging the door will remove those sensors, let alone a burglar.
On the other hand, Verisure can use the cheapest of the cheap installers on the market, train them for 60 minutes, and then send them to your house to install.
(No wonder my Verisure "experts" missed 6 out of the last 6 appointments - they probably do this in their spare time).

4) Verisure will tell you they used to be called Securitas Direct - in a pathetic attempt to associate themselves with Securitas Security Services Ltd (the 2nd biggest regulated security operator in the UK).
Nothing can be further from the truth... Verisure is headquartered in Geneva, CH - and (mostly) owned by a private equity firm called Hellman & Friedman. No link whatsoever with the British security operator, just a naming coincidence.

Long story short: Verisure are marketing very well a ... toy; a scarecrow meant to deter; but in case of real emergency - there's NOTHING underneath.
You'll be as exposed as if you had no alarm at all. And the money you spend on them are mostly going to fancy ads, shiny web pages - and fake 5-star reviews.

Home Alarm

They fitted the door sensor on the wrong patio door, such that when we were broken into the alarm did not trigger. When we cancelled our contract and gave 3 months notice, they did not arrange for someone to remove the alarm system, when we chased it up they claimed we had not given them any notice to cancel the contract and made up that they had sent us e-mails to discuss our cancellation and they had no records of their claimed e-mails or calls to prove they had done so.

Alarm with Arlo Cameras

Have had an absolutely shocking experience with Verisure since installation, having purchased what was meant to be an integrated alarm system with Arlo cameras that they could access. Within 30 days, the doorbell needed charging, and the driveway camera kept going offline. 4 phone calls later, and 30 days later again, an unqualified engineer arrived who spent an hour on the phone to his manager asking what to do. Was promised a manager call back on 2nd July which never came, and ended up chasing myself in August. Same with a compensation voucher.

Ended up going through the customer resolutions and customer care team, to be lied to 3 times - Stephen is on holiday, he's the only one that can look at your complaint, few hours later, different agent, Stephen was really quite ill this morning, and at 5pm a call from Ethan to be told that Stephen was sat opposite him.

In essence, we're now 5 months on - still with faulty cameras, with Verisure offering a refund of the cameras. Whole point of replacing my full Ring set up was because they could access it, total lack of trust in this company now, and won't offer to refund the system which is no good to me if they can't see the cameras - whole reason for me buying their system.

Same complaint has been open for over 3 months and still not resolved.
