Verisure

Are you looking to increase security at your home? Would you like to ensure your family is safer and protected? An alarm system – even the most basic one – is better than none. With sensors at key entrance points, homeowners can be alerted to would-be intruders and can take action to protect themselves and their family. With CCTV cameras now found on nearly every street in the United Kingdom, crime is still something that needs to be addressed and not taken lightly. A monitored alarm system is the best bet, as these companies can send out guarded units to protect homeowners and families. Which company do you choose? One such company is called Verisure. Are they reputable? Are they reliable? To know that, you need to read customer reviews from actual customers who use this company’s services.

They have 32 branches across the United Kingdom from Bristol, Edinburgh, and Leeds to Newhaven, Sheffield, and Wolverhampton. Verisure’ products send alarm system signals from their wireless devices to the Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). If an alarm goes off, the company will contact the homeowner or key holder and if necessary will dispatch a guard response unit. Verisure offers customers 24-hour protection.

Installed an alarm system

We actually thought about having an alarm system after there was attempted theft at our home. Therefore, I asked a friend who then referred me to Verisure and we thought of asking for a quote. The company has very swift services because, within a day, we had a quote and consequentially, in 3 days our alarm system was up and running, fully installed. The customer services were prompt in answering questions, especially because we had never used such a system before. The team has helped us trigger some false alarms to confirm how the system works as well as explain how their application and features work. I would definitely recommend Verisure.

Alarm

Awful company. They miss-sell and then want to charge for a system that is not adequate. Constantly having false triggers and they turn half of the system off meaning any one is free to access as long as they don't use the front door. We are now locked in a legal battle as I am out Almost £1000 for an alarm that doesn't work or be monitored apropriotly.

Verisure customer service never made me feel safe or secure.

My experience with Verisure was awful from the very beginning. Firstly I believe I was misled by the installer who made me sign a contract on the spot on his tablet, without even attempting a brief explanation of certain clauses of the contract written in very small fonts and large paragraphs which are impossible to read fully as you can imagine.

Additionally, I found that the quality of the video from the devices was extremely poor. Never really understood why is there no camera installed on the front door included in the package?
Furthermore, a fault had been erased within a device, and the system was not functioning properly.
Despite the fact that an engineer was supposed to come, they didn't, so the bills continued while the problem was still present.

Unfortunately, I lost my job a few months later and requested to cancel my subscription to Verisure. Interestingly, my Verisure payments increased ridiculously, and I needed to decrease my monthly spending.
It was from this point onwards that I had to deal with the ruthless Verisure Customer Service.

Please refrain from joining Verisure at any cost.
In my opinion, there are much better companies out there offering a friendly, fair, and high-quality service, at a much lower cost.
It is a large company that is growing somehow but based on my experience, I am convinced they have zero interest in individuals.

By far, Verisure provides the Worst Customer Service I ever encountered. It is also worth noting that I am not the type of person who complains often, so that says a lot....
Do yourself a favor and avoid Verisure. It would be in your best interest.

BEWARE! This has been the worst experience with a company I have ever dealt with. As soon as I decided I wanted to cancel the whole process has been so difficult and they have made it really stressful! Avoid this company at all costs!

Verisure alarm system

A recent bad Customer "Service" experience has triggered a thorough research on the nitty-gritty of the Verisure alarm system.
Here's the findings, for the benefit of current and potential customers:

1) Verisure will tell you they're "NSI certified" - where "NSI" stands for National Security Inspectorate.
Which is true ... in part. Which part? Not the most important one...
Here's the whole truth: Verisure's Alarm Receiving Centre is indeed certified by NSI. This means a Verisure person will indeed pick up you call in, say, 40 or 60 seconds.
What happens from there? If the alarm is real, Verisure will contact their sub-contractor who does the patrolling and "intervention".
In my case (W7 postcode) this sub-contractor has a MINIMUM response time of 30 minutes. Add "Sunday", "football match" or "heavy rain" into the mix - and you'll potentially have an agent calling at your burgled home in 45-60 minutes. Useful, huh?
Moreover, these sub-contractors cannot touch the burglar, even if he/she is caught in the act of leaving your property loaded. I suppose that, based on the seniority of the burglar, the reaction of your "fierce" Verisure agent could range from "How are you, sir, enjoying your stroll this evening?" to "Bad boy! You'll go to bed without dinner tonight!"

2) Police will never intervene in case of a Verisure-triggered alarm.
Verisure can't provide an URN - unique reference number assigned by the police to a security system, like other providers (Banham, ADT).
Therefore Police intervention "is not guaranteed" - read "it will never ever happen".

3) Neither the products Verisure install in your property, nor the installers of those products, are NSI certified.
Have you noticed the door "sensors" they install? Peeling the film and gluing them to the door and to the frame? A gust of wind banging the door will remove those sensors, let alone a burglar.
On the other hand, Verisure can use the cheapest of the cheap installers on the market, train them for 60 minutes, and then send them to your house to install.
(No wonder my Verisure "experts" missed 6 out of the last 6 appointments - they probably do this in their spare time).

4) Verisure will tell you they used to be called Securitas Direct - in a pathetic attempt to associate themselves with Securitas Security Services Ltd (the 2nd biggest regulated security operator in the UK).
Nothing can be further from the truth... Verisure is headquartered in Geneva, CH - and (mostly) owned by a private equity firm called Hellman & Friedman. No link whatsoever with the British security operator, just a naming coincidence.

Long story short: Verisure are marketing very well a ... toy; a scarecrow meant to deter; but in case of real emergency - there's NOTHING underneath.
You'll be as exposed as if you had no alarm at all. And the money you spend on them are mostly going to fancy ads, shiny web pages - and fake 5-star reviews.

Home Alarm

They fitted the door sensor on the wrong patio door, such that when we were broken into the alarm did not trigger. When we cancelled our contract and gave 3 months notice, they did not arrange for someone to remove the alarm system, when we chased it up they claimed we had not given them any notice to cancel the contract and made up that they had sent us e-mails to discuss our cancellation and they had no records of their claimed e-mails or calls to prove they had done so.

Cameras and alarm system

Awful experience. Installation day 1- didn’t happen-day 2 - didn’t happen. Day 3 , fitter arrived but didn’t have all of the pieces. Cancelled. Day 4, it finally happened. The alarm sensitivity is too high. So the battery life of the devices , which was supposed to last a year has run out with a week to 10 days. I left the house with security turned on. Arrived back to hear the alarm going off. The voice until told me that one of the deuces had been tampered with. It hadn’t. They then tried to reset the system but couldn’t. The installer said that he would arrive to fix the system and fit the last camera. He had a minor car accident yesterday. I now have a system with no battery life, pinging everything that moves, from birds to the postman delivering post across the road. It drives us nuts ! Verisure ? Veripoor !! Not reliable and customer Service is shocking. Where’s the technician I was promised after three days from reporting the many problems ??? Terrible experience following the lies spun on the sales interview.

A full 20 device system

This is a departure from the normal Veritas system we have - meaning there are a few quirks that are different to a normal keypad system. We have three daughters that tend to come in whenever, so we wanted a system that was flexible and connected. I will start by saying that I was contacted at 0355 this morning, from the Control Centre - one of the garden sensors was activated. They taken five rapid pictures to make sure that we were not being burgled. The girls name is Vicky and she was excellent. The system is excellent and we have a fairly large property with three annexes. I am sure people have different experiences across the country, but I'm really impressed with the service, the sensitivity of the product, I have to get used to a different way of interacting with the system, but that's about me not the product. The pricing, is a different thing to me, it's a bit like paying for the fire service through my Council tax, you don't need it until you need it and I'm willing to pay a premium price for that.

Home alarm

Do not ever ever use this service, it's a trap. They give you many offers in the beginning but too hard when discontinuing, they keep you sending bills and too bad customer support to sort out. Even while dismantling you have to pay big sum. And it doesn't just stop there, you keep receiving bills and lots ot lagging to sort out. At the end no one at customer can give you the solution and they transfer you from here to there. Unwanted stress, i would have given 0 starts if there were.
