Moving Home

I would seriously advise you NOT (would underline, bold and put in italics if I could) to use this lot. They were awful. Seriously, one of the worst experiences I have ever had dealing with any organisation, business or company.

DO NOT make the same mistake as I did with their Trustpilot score. It's inflated with "invited" reviews. Wish I had paid more attention. Read the bad reviews and you will see a definite pattern of incompetence, awful customer care, tardiness and daylight robbery. Also, DO NOT believe their responses to bad reviews on here. THEY DON'T CARE. Once you have paid them, that's it. They know moving is a stressful experience and take advantage of the situation! Please please don't use them. I was so stressed and upset by my experience and I am normally an incredibly relaxed easy going person. In fact, I never write reviews, but thought it was a moral duty to warn people about this lot.

Moving home is stressful and can be an emotional experience. This lot only add to that stress and anxiety. They turned up late twice. The first time they only sent one person to do a home move! This was after I had explained during the booking process that there was furniture like beds etc. to move. The sole mover arrived late on Sunday, took one look at what was to be moved and left!! Spent 2 hrs trying to get hold of their Customer Service team. Decided to change tactic and call their Sales team. Surprise Surprise, they picked up right away! They blamed me for not telling them it was a two man job even though I had told them I was moving furniture like beds and sofas. They refused to give me a refund! I had no choice but to rebook, which was another cost - by this stage I was totally packed, no internet etc. and I was moving out of rented accommodation that needed to be vacated immediately because my landlord was completing the sale of the property the next day. I had no time to find another company. The next day, the second team arrived. This time two of them, but once again late! Then when they got to my new home - an apartment block, they complained my apartment was too far from the van, which was parked directly next to my apartment building. They couldn't have parked any closer and my apartment building has multiple entrances and lifts!! The concierge suggested the best spot and route to my apartment. It was a few minutes walk from the van to my apartment.
There were some fire safety doors to navigate, but that surely is nothing new! Subsequently charged me an additional amount to unpack my things. Basically held me at ransom! At this stage I was fuming. I was promised a call back and a potential refund. Its been two weeks and no one has called. The person was Andy from their Day team. Wouldn't give me his second name. When you add up all my costs, including having to pay rent for an additional night at my previous place because of the debacle of sending one person to move furniture, I was out of pocket by nearly £750. If you want peace of mind during a home move and don't want to get ripped off by a completely unprofessional outfit, I suggest you hire someone else.

Car Transport

They took a booking for a job they could never had fulfilled.

I am not a car expert. When I requested the job I told them that I had a non-operational hybrid car (due to water damage/flooding).
As the car's electrical system was fried, the electric brake could not be released. There was a manual overide, but it only worked for the front wheels.

After being unable to load the car I spoke to a number of other garages and they knew this would be an issue immediately.
Same applied to the driver of the pick up truck driver who knew that we would not be able to overide the electric brakes.

Any Van have refused any compensation or refund, despite the service not being started or completed. Which is frustrating as it seems anyone with any car knowledge would have known that the job was never possible.

ManVan and Help

Damaged Good + Overcharged.
The driver came with half of the van filled with other stuff. I had categorically asked for a large van. Then they put me on the spot saying they can't move unless I paid an extra £140.

When I agreed, they then went on to drop my boxes, breaking 3 expensive whiskey bottles among other things. I wish I could upload pictures here.

When I raised a complaint, an extremely rude woman called 'Ana' called me up speaking extremely impolitely and not even willing to listen. All she said was it was all my fault.

Incredibly poor service overall.

REMOVALS

Anyone out there interested in joining a class action against this bunch of crooks?? Email at gsmltd@live.com with title Anyvan
I had £1,700 on top of the original quotation extorted from me during our move, and planning on suing. Extortion, Damaged goods galore, packing boxes dropped, placed upside down, linen press doors smashed, dresser damaged, tin of paint spilled in the garage. That is not all... BEWARE AND WARN YOUR FRIENDS WHO ARE MOVING HOME!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I paid for pick up and delivery of several items from a showroom to a residential address. During the booking process, I asked if they needed pictures of the items as they were difficult to describe. I was told that wasn't necessary. I also asked if they had adequate covers and packaging, I was told they did. This was a recorded telephone conversation. I asked for a two man pick up as the items were large. I informed them the items were expensive and was advised to pay for extra insurance cover which was added to the overall charge. I paid for the service via Debit Card.
When the gentlemen turned up, they couldn't fit all the items in the van and didn't have appropriate covers or packaging. I rang up Any Van who said they would investigate. They offered to take the items at an inflated cost
I refused to accept the inflated cost and cancelled the service. I was told they would not refund any money including the insurance. When I objected they said they still had to pay for the men with the van for their travel time. I asked the men how much they would receive in compensation and was shown the payment from Any Van was £20.00 compensation. I then challenged Any Van why they would not refund any of the monies taken from my account and was also informed by Any Van that they are not regulated by any financial consumer organisation and therefore I had no redress. I. have since contacted the Citizens Advice Bureau and will take this further. I booked a local removal company who has moved the 5 items of furniture for me and just wished I'd done that in the first place! Do Not Use Any Van, this has left me financially out of pocket.

DREADFUL! I had to use AnyVan as my removal co. cancelled 36 hours before house completion... AnyVan were available-that's the positive. Long story short: arrived with someone else's enormous sofa, so my stuff didn't fit in! I'd paid £1400+ (Double what my original company wanted) and then at 2.15pmish (hours after the sale had gone through and I was technically in breach of contract) I had to book another van from another company, costing me a further £750! The sofa was then delivered before my stuff and the lorry eventually arrived at my new home at 9.16pm! The additional drivers that I had paid extra for then helped AnyVan operators unload and all lorries left at 1am!

Yes, throughout the day I kept AnyVan aware and they did NOTHING. Theo told me that the lorry was not allowed to carry other people's stuff and spoke to the driver-fat lot of good that did. He then said he'd see if he could get another vehicle to help and he'd get back to me in a couple of hours. Maybe. It's a removal company and everyone knows that moving house is stressful so why add to that stress AnyVan, by being incompetent in the moment? What choice did you leave me with when I was already in breach of contract and could have been sued by the new owner of my ex property!

As I moved just before Christmas I wrote a complaint to AnyVan at the start of the new year-I just couldn't face it ruining my christmas. Outlined some damage that had occurred (I've found more since) but AnyVan took great delight in stating that they weren't responsible as it was outside the one week reporting period. After that, AnyVan did nothing for three weeks despite my reminding them-interesting considering when I made a booking I was plagued by endless emails, phone calls and texts. It was like being stalked! Then I was offered a paltry sum. Honestly, I was being patient but the figure was so insulting for what they put me through that now I'll review then anywhere I can!

If you want to move one item, fine. For removals, forget it. They are SO expensive compared to other companies and their slogan could not be less true.

This company totally ripped me off!

getting stuff wrong on the inventory, not knowing the difference between a playhouse and a shed. telling me that the move will run smoothly as there is a 10% leeway on its then charging me £140 more for not many extra boxes. I provided proof about it being a shed as I forwarded them an email about it. despite paying £140 extra they still left the shed and plant pots because they had plants in them. PLANT POTS NORMALLY DO...funny that!

also charged an added £144 because I rang up 5 days before for advice on what time slot I should have because the house im moving into will leave around 2 pm. I asked her which slot she recommends and she said 10-12. this as well as me making booking for 2 men and 3 turning up meant I was done by 11.15 and was then charged the wait time. The agent got this time wrong and I paid the price...

I was told Anyvan cover the costs if its an agents error now they are backtracking. also I have had to gather phone call evidence and show them emails of me saying it is a shed not a playhouse, this whole experience has been really stressful and cost me £770 for a 26sqm tiny flats belongings to go 4 miles down the road! not to mention there is still a shed and plant pots at the old property.
also the agent called me a liar so I asked for phone evidence. I now have that phone evidence and I can see that was said and confirm what I already knew, that its them who have given me false information and not done the inventory correctly in the first place....avoid any van, even the drivers told me they do this to so many customers!

Horrible experience. Do not rely on this company.

Cancelled our move the afternoon of our moving day. Showed no remorse and offered no alternate solutions.

Our move was booked months in advance but when the driver was late, I contacted him with photos of our things, to which he replied he would actually be hours later than the scheduled time. He asked would we prefer to have an alternate driver come in his place so that they could arrive on time, to which we replied that we would. Navaratnam told us that he would arrange this with Anyvan and we would hear from them shortly. We heard nothing.

After waiting on hold for an extended period of time, we were told our driver had taken himself off the job and there would be no drivers coming in his place, but that this was ok because they could send a driver the following week. We were moving from Wales to England with international flights arranged the following day. It was not ok.

Abdul, the customer service representative, proposed no solutions, until I insisted that he call the original mover and reassign him the job. Twice, Abdul said that he had been in contact with the driver who clarified that his pick-up time would now be later than the previous estimate. I told Abdul that we would manage the lateness of the pick-up, we just needed the items moved the day we had agreed upon. Despite Navaratnam having confirmed that he was available to do the move, Abdul did not arrange this to take place, breaching their contract, causing us significant stress and forcing us to bear excessive additional costs in finding an emergency moving company to come immediately.

The only apology that we received was at the end of our last phone call, where we were told 'We are sorry that we have not been able to provide what you had expected from us'.

Having contacted the complaints department, asking only for compensation in the difference of payment we had to make to the emergency company, we were quoted their contract saying that if their drivers are unable to perform their service they would contact us. (Which they did not do). It was also abundantly clear that the driver was able to do the delivery, he simply chose not to.

Other experiences included:
- Being cut-off mid sentence by being put on hold when Abdul disagreed with what I was saying
- Not having our pick-up time confirmed until late in the evening the night before. Despite several phone calls promising this confirmation at an earlier time.
- Needing to call and wait on the customer service line repeatedly when people promised to call back within a defined amount of time and did not.

Worst company ever. I miss my collection as I was waiting for the driver to call me, I had spoken with him in morning. Another number called and I missed it. When I called back she wanted another 300 pounds to reschedule. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Same day reschedule 300 pounds. I'm literally still crying.
They can't refund any money despite not receiving any service.
600 pounds gone just like that. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. My heart is in pain.
