Santas Lapland Santas Magic 2 day trip
Do not book with this company.
Last Christmas 2021, myself and my family were due to fly to Lapland on a 2 night 3 day trip from Manchester to Saariselka. It was the very last trip of the season, just before Christmas.
A few days before departure, Finland changed their COVID entry requirements due to the Omicron variant raging through the UK. This created several days of complete panic for us. They were spot testing on arrival at airports across Finland, whether or not you had a negative lateral flow. Myself and my partner had recently had COVID and therefore were going to be in a very difficult situation if we tested positive when we landed.
The hotel had closed it's restaurants. The Once In a Lifetime Trip and Unforgettable Experience could easily have become a nightmare situation resulting in some of us being forced to isolate over the Christmas period in Finland. Imagine having to explain to a child when going to meet Father Christmas, that actually we have to isolate and Father Christmas never bringing any presents. The trip could easily have had the opposite affect and a detrimental one at that on our family.
The company i booked through (Dream of Lapland) said there was no insurance, or option to re-book, unless we tested positive ourselves.
We decided we couldn't go, but I knew we wanted to go to Lapland at some point and Santas Lapland may be able to offer some form of discount for re-booking the following year.
Santas Lapland have refused to engage, despite my several attempts, and consider any sort of compensation. Instead my family have lost over £7000.
They have rudely disabled my ability to comment on their social media.
£7000 is a huge amount of money. I literally urge EVERYONE that is thinking about a lapland trip, to NOT BOOK with this company. You never know when you're going to need understanding customer service, but you will never get it from this company.
