AXA
Your biggest financial outlay in life is your home. Generating an income from your asset by renting out your home is a fantastic way of generating income. However, renting your property to strangers isn’t without risk. Landlord Insurance is a protection policy created to offer landlords and landowners legal and financial security for a moment when things go wrong such as breakages, legal disputes, rental income protection, and intentional damage to property. When searching for such policies you may have come across AXA. Properties are large financial investments and your regular home-owner insurance might have regulations excluding coverage when letting your property for income. That is why insurance providers offer specialised packages such as the products you’ll find in this category and from companies such as AXA. Our customers’ reviews will help you to make up your mind with real-world advice on what to expect from this company. Read customers’ reviews of AXA to better equip yourself with knowledge about their products, services, policies, and customer service to protect yourself and your tenants.
About AXA
AXA forms part of the AXA Group which is a multinational company with 160,000 employees in 57 countries and 108 million clients. This company specialises in the needs of landlords and landowners, such as residential landlord cover, commercial landlord cover, buy-to-let insurance cover and they offer landlord advice on ways to best manage your investment and protect your property. Their products are tailored for building insurance, contents, liability protection and income loss cover.
Products and Services of AXA
AXA offers products and services to cover a range of liabilities, protection plans and coverage to safeguard your financial investment in your property as a landlord. Their Landlord Insurance offers property owners’ liability insurance which protects landlords against third-party claims (such as when someone injures themselves on your property). This also covers the building for repairs or reconstruction of your property in cases of damage or destruction. This also means offering your tenants alternative accommodation if the property can’t be accessed or lived in due to damage or building. Other aspects of this landlord insurance include repair and replacement of any underground piping for utilities such as electricity, gas and water. In the unlikely event of failures caused by subsidence, ground heave and landslip, your property might be structurally damaged and Landlord Insurance will cover that rebuilding or repair work required.

AXA car Insurance
I recently insured my cars (a Toyota corolla and Ford Explorer) using the AXA Landlord Insurance multicar insurance policy. Honestly, I love it. First, the company offered me 15% off for the two cars, which of course helped me save some dollars yearly. Using this package, I don’t have to look for a couple of different insuring companies even if I decide to add another family car. Secondly, I adore the company’s customer service, which is incomparable and super helpful. They explain to you every detail of the insurance policy to ensure that you understand and stay on the safe side.
Landlordinsurance
I have had an absolutely terrible experience with AXA Landlord Insurance. I paid over 500 pounds in premiums for the year and over winter had a leak in the flat roof that caused a small amount of mould and damage. I reluctantly started a claim knowing that it would be over my 500 pound excess. The online claim reporting seems to go no where (no confirmation and no follow-up) so after waiting a week, ended up calling multiple times where the agents frequently reported their computer system was down.
After eventually getting my claim in (all while the repair was in limbo and my tenants getting increasingly angry) and after several emails over weeks to chase things up they finally gave me an estimate of my damage as 1500 GBP - no assessor to help or recommendations of people to perform the work. However, they are now disputing the "declared rebuild value" of the house, saying their surveyor estimates it to be 800k which is close to twice what was paid for the house (and considerable land) just a couple of years ago. Rather conveniently for them, that rebuild value reduces their payout to a few pounds more than the excess.
I went with AXA because I thought they would be a reputable and trustable company for those rare situations when you need insurance. That couldn't be further from the truth and looking at past Ombudsman cases this seems to be a "trick" they have pulled on many of their customers in the past. I have since cancelled my policy and am pursuing all avenues to bring their practices to light. Do not make the same mistake I did.
