Creditcardnameissue

I booked car hire with my credit card in the name e.g. F Brown. Argus took the booking and took my money. When we arrived, the car hire company would not accept the same credit card as it has to have the full name, e.g. Fred Brown. I appealed, but they would not refund me.
Argus does inform you of this, so be careful as most credit cards are not in your full name.
When you appeal, you will receive a stock answer that they have followed the rules which are clear when you book.
Needless to say, I will never use these services again and will not recommend them to anyone else.
Was this my error? Yes. Have they done this to others? Countless times.
So, please be aware.

argus car hire. do not fooled. by appearances this company is unprofessional and does not pay any attention to detail. check the opening hours of car rental desks you are going to because they are more often than not reported incorrectly. Their mistake by one hour on closing time at Rome airport cost me dearly as I could not collect my car after a small delay to my flight. No admission of error on their part let alone an offer of compensation. very disappointing.

They are acting like a third party company (which means....they hire other local car rentals).
If for any reason you cant get your car at the destination point....NOW THE SURPRISE....ARGUS CAR HIRE (THIEFS AND SCAMMERS...IM STILL LOOKING HOW I CAN OPEN A LAW SUITE AGAINST THEM)....will keep your already paid money(over their own rental portal) just sending you a message ,that unfortunately they cant give you a refund.SO THEY DONT GIVE YOU THE OFFERED SERVICE BUT THEY KEEP YOUR MONEY EVEN IF YOU COULDNT RECIEVE YOUR CAR......NICE😇😇

Worst experience of my life. We made a booking through their website. When we reached the counter to collect the car, we were informed by the customer service that no car was available and he just left. We had no choice but to rent another car from the next counter. And when I was lodged my complaints to them, without fair investigation they just ignored and no refund was made..

In 20 years of renting cars around the world I've never had such bad experience and such useless customer service..
I was left stranded at 2am with elderly mother and child in foreign country without a car as it was refused by the actual car suppliers due to us not having IDP (on UK license). It is not mandatory according to Lithuanian and British governments. It is NOT required by the car suppliers either! It was for some odd reason though on the booking confirmation ticket that you'd open when actually collecting your car.
I have spoken with the supplier directly whom advised that if we would have made the booking with them directly we wouldn't be required to provide IDP.
When speaking with Argus so called customer service they played the blame game referring to the booking ticket rules (that go against government and actual supplier rules) and reminding me that I have agreed to this. They refused to speak with suppliers to clarify this as well refused us refund.
If you want to save yourself time, money and ruined holiday - don't use Argus! Go to your car hire places direct no matter how small they are!

My experience with Argus Car Hire was nothing short of a nightmare, showcasing a stunning display of incompetence from start to finish. They claim to offer reliable car rental services, but this couldn't be further from the truth. Their lack of responsiveness to customer issues is appalling. When faced with a problem, their go-to response seems to be that they cannot help because the issue wasn't reported beforehand. However, the irony is that these problems only manifest themselves when you arrive to pick up the car at the designated time and place.

Upon encountering an unresolved issue at the car rental counter, contacting Argus for support only led to further frustration. Their customer service team was quick to wash their hands of the situation, stating they were powerless to assist because we hadn't contacted them before the pickup date. But how could we have anticipated an issue that did not exist until that very moment? This circular logic leaves customers trapped in a no-win situation.

This entire ordeal speaks volumes about the lack of coordination and responsibility between Argus Car Hire and the actual car rental providers they partner with. It's a clear indication that their operational model is deeply flawed, prioritizing contracts over customer satisfaction and support. Dealing with Argus Car Hire has been a horrific experience, underscoring a complete disregard for customer service and efficiency. I strongly advise against using their services unless you're prepared for a potential cascade of unresolved issues and a total absence of support when you most need it.
