Why you should consider a career in Car Services
What I'm about to tell you will likely not come as much of a surprise at all! And that is that jobs are going to be difficult to get.
Thanks to the Corona virus, the economy has had to go into a shut down, and as a result, it's now suffering at levels not seen since world war 2.
Today, we'll be looking at why you might want to consider a career in the car services industry.
It's in demand
Although there are certain jobs which are no longer in demand thanks to people have less money now, one industry which is unlikely to be going anywhere anytime soon is the car services industry.
Even though people will now be spending less money on luxuries, everyone who owns a car will need to have it serviced. This might be for an MOT, or it could be in the event that something goes wrong. Either way, the demand for car service people is not going away.
It's well paid
We spoke earlier about how many people aren't going to have as much money as they used to. And of course, this means that you'll need to learn some new skills so that you can make extra money.
Due to the popular demand of the job, working in car services can actually be rather highly paid. You need to be specially trained, and maybe even work unsociable hours. But this could be a worthwhile sacrifice when you consider that you could be working a well paid job in a bad economy.
It's not going to go
We spoke earlier about how it's in demand. But not only is it in demand now, it will likely stay in demand for a long time.
It’s true that cars are always changing. Maybe in 20-30 years time, you'll be working exclusively on electric cars. But the fact of the matter is that people are always going to need cars, and these cars are always going to need experts to service them.
Learning this skill now could guarantee you a job until the day you retire. You just might need to be willing to keep up with the times.
Jobs are hard to get
The economic impact of the lock down has been catastrophic.
When all of the shops, bars, restaurants, gyms, etc have been shut down for months, that's money which is not helping the economy to grow. And when the economy isn't doing very well, jobs don't tend to do very well.
Since the lock down, jobs have become even harder to get a hold of, and the days when finding work was easy are now unfortunately over.
And because there are now so many people who don't have a job, the few jobs that there are will have a lot of people applying for them.
You can climb the ladder
When you first start out in the car services industry, chances are you're not going to be running the place. You'll likely start as an apprentice (and it doesn't matter what age you are). But as time goes on, you'll get better at your job, and you'll be able to climb up the ladder, and end up making even more money.
I'm not saying that you'll be a millionaire after your first year. But what I am saying is that if you keep on working hard, you can continue to get better.
With so few jobs, and so many jobless people, jobs are not easy to get anymore. For this reason, if you want to stand out, you'll need to learn a new skill that most others won't have.
And car services is an industry which is unlikely to go under.
