Why streaming services make everything better

For as long as we've been around, we've enjoyed telling stories. This started off as just people telling stories around a fire. When writing became a thing, we invented the storybook. And this then became the play. And eventually the tv series/movie.

But the way we consume our media is changing for the better. Here's streaming services are making our lives better.

A whole library

The streaming services will usually contain a whole library of shows and movies. There's no more having to go to the cinema to watch one thing, the tv for one thing, and blockbuster for another. Instead, you can have access to a whole library on one single streaming service.

It doesn't matter what you're into. Most of the services out there will have something that you're going to enjoy watching. And it also doesn't matter what country you're in. People in Britain can watch American shows, and Americans can watch British shows.

New Shows

As well as showing media that has been created by other studios, a lot of these streaming sites will also have their own studios which produce their own shows. This can expand the amount of shows that you can watch even further.

Don't be fooled into thinking that shows made by streaming services aren't that good. Many of them have won the same awards that the other studios have also made.

Infact, some of the most popular shows are made by the streaming services. Including After Life, The Man in the High Castle, and Somebody feed Phil.

Time isn't an issue

In the past, if you wanted to watch something, you would have to be at home when it's on. This isn't very continent for people who work late or who go out a lot.

Instead of having to rely on repeats, you can now watch your favourite shows whenever you want to. If it's 23:00 at night, you can still watch your favourite comedy. If you can't sleep in the middle of the night, you can watch your favourite sci-fi show.

Time is no longer an obstacle. And you have the freedom to watch what you want when you want.

No disks

Before the streaming service was a thing, if you wanted to watch a movie, you would need to go to your local movie rental shop, and borrow a disk.

It would be your responsibility to make sure that the disk doesn't get scratched. And you would have to return it on time.

Today however, there is no need for disks. Everything you want is just stored on the streaming service already. All you need to do is click on what you want, and let it load.

This can save you both time and money.

Recommendations

And finally, most streaming services will use cookies to keep on top of what you like. This means they can recommend shows for you based upon what you've enjoyed watching in the past. If you watch a lot of Sci-Fi, you'll be shown the most popular sci-fi shows on the platform.

Perhaps cheesy reality tv is more your thing. If that's you, then you will be shown reality tv so cheesy you'll need a packet of crackers.

Being given recommendations can stop you from having to scroll through all of the shows and movies on offer. And most of the time, they're pretty accurate.

Change can be a scary thing. But streaming services are helping us to improve how we consume our media. The barriers of the past have been put into the shed, and now you can enjoy new shows whenever you want with minimal effort.
